Blood, Stool & Urine Screening


An extensive range of tests can be undertaken within a consultation that will include interpretation once the results are received back from the laboratory. However you can be tested without a consultation where a phlebotomy charge will be applied. Copies of results can be either posted, emailed or collected from the practice.

Blood tests to include:

  • Full blood Screen – Haematology, Biochemistry, Kidney Function, Liver Function, Blood Glucose, Cholesterol (Lipids), Thyroid Function & F.S.H (follicle stimulating hormone/Sex Function)
  • Glycosylated Haemoglobin / HbA1c – Sugar level
  • Vitamin D deficiency
  • B12 deficiency
  • Gluten Tolerance / Coeliac Screen
  • HIV 1 & 2 and STD Syphilis screening
  • PSA – (Prostate Specific Antigen) – prostate cancer marker for men
  • Cancer tumor markers for Pancreatic, Gastric & Ovarian cancers – accurate test for early detection
  • H.Pylori – bacteria in the stomach which causes acidity & dyspepsia
  • Female Fertility & Menopausal screen

Stool tests to include:

  • Occult blood
  • H.Pylori
  • Microscopy for parasites, ovas and cysts

Urine tests to include:

  • Pregnancy
  • Drug Abuse
  • Microscopy for proteins, blood, glucose & organisms – also gives culture & sensitivity therefore the physician can interpret which antibiotic should be used for treatment.
  • Chlamydia from PCR which is an accurate DNA test – the first urine catch of the morning must be submitted for this test
  • Swab tests:
  • Gonorrhoea
  • Bacterial culture, ie from throat or wound
  • High vaginal swab
