STOOL TESTS TO INCLUDE:

• Occult Blood - indicator of bowel health
• H.Pylori
• Microscopy For Parasites, Ovas And Cysts

URINE TESTS TO INCLUDE:

• Pregnancy
• Drug abuse
• Microscopy for proteins, blood, glucose & organisms – also gives culture & sensitivity therefore the physician can interpret which antibiotic should be used for treatment.
• Chlamydia – the first urine catch of the morning must be submitted for this test.

SWAB TESTS:

• Gonorrhoea
• Bacterial culture, i.e. from throat or wound
• High vaginal swab
• Cervical Smear

Blood Pressure & ECG

An ECG (electrocardiogram) is a simple and painless test which measures the electrical activity of your heart to show whether or not it is working normally. An ECG records the heart’s rhythm and activity on a moving strip of paper, this is a good clinical tool to help indicate whether further testing maybe required.

Your Blood Pressure is the strength of your blood pushing against the sides of your blood vessels, this can be measured with a simple device to ensure it’s within normal clinical limits for your gender and age.

Spirometry

Spirometry is a test of how well you can breathe and can help in the diagnosis of different lung diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The test requires taking in a very deep breath and blowing out as fast as possible into a small device called a spirometer which measures your lung capacity to ensure it is within normal clinical range.
